Am I boring with these “old” anime? This is nothing — I also have nine 90’s anime in my backlog. When I break out those, it will be a real trip into anime history for some of you. Look forward to that!
This week I watched 21 episodes, including 16 shorts. I’m trying to watch more full-fledged episodes, but when I’m really tired or just generally running out of time, I watch shorts to fulfill my daily episode goal. Like when I stop studying at 10PM and just want to go to sleep.
Kyoukai no Kanata: Idol Saiban!
Kyoukai no Kanata has two types of specials. These are the Idol Trials. A member of the cast gets tried by four chibi-judges — Mitsuki, Mirai, Ai, and Sakura. It’s a concentration of the comedy tropes of each tried character. It might seem a little overboard to some.
Kyoukai no Kanata: Mini Theater
These aren’t regular specials. They’re more like a series of still illustrations accompanying a regular voiced script. Maybe like an illustrated CD drama? They’re not too eventful, weighing in on the characters’ personalities.
And that’s it this week. I’ve been busy with school, so I really just watch a couple of shorts before collapsing into bed every night. I’ll keep on watching Futari Ecchi (2 more eps), pick up Shokugeki no Souma 2 (4 eps), and finish Kyoukai no Kanata Movie: I’ll Be Here – Kako-hen.
